Craig Roberts is the Chair of the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners and will provide an update on the county. 

David Potts of the Peacebuilding committee will present a proposal to the City of Milwaukie, Oregon to have our City designated as an International City of Peace.

Nick Hess is a Milwaukie resident who serves on the city’s Planning Commission and on the board of the Downtown Alliance Milwaukie (D.A.M.). With 18 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, he now consults with local businesses. Nick recently helped secure a state grant to restore the historic Perry’s Pharmacy building, a project that will strengthen downtown and create new opportunities for local businesse

OCBH promotes, develops, and maintains the highest quality community programs and services for the treatment of problems related to behavioral health and advocates for the recovery of Oregonians with substance use disorder and mental health disabilities.  

For decades, the American Cancer Society has been helping patients get to their treatments by coordinating rides through volunteer drivers. This Uber-like program, called Road to Recovery, has been fantastically successful, but they've been extremely short on drivers since the pandemic.

Jeff Molby learned about this problem while volunteering for ACS through the Tuscola County Relay For Life. On October 10, 2023, he left home on a two-year bike tour around the country, reaching out to his fellow Rotarians, fellow Lions, and anyone else who would listen in search of volunteer drivers to help people get to their chemo appointments.

The Rotary Club of Milwaukie & Milwaukie Rotary Club Foundation is selling Holiday Wreaths & Hanging Baskets to raise funds supporting our Local Community Service Projects; including LoveOne Milwaukie, Feed the Hungry, NCSD-"Oregon Battle of the Books", Hillside Family Holiday Event & more!

Rotory Club of Milwaukie sponsored Sam and paid for his college tuition in Ghana. We paid his tuition for the four years through a non-profit, Yakote Womens Farmers Association. Sam has completed his final exams, and is going to update the club on his educational journey.

Serve hot drinks & treats to parade participants!

The parade will convene in the South Downtown Plaza near the Post Office at 11222 SE Main St. (Keep in mind that Main St. will be closed from Washington St. south to 21st Ave. for the staging beginning at 12 p.m.) 
Everyone is welcome to decorate an umbrella and participate in the parade. No pre-registration is required.
The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. All participants who want to be part of the umbrella decorating contest must arrive by 4:15 p.m.. The parade then travels north for four blocks on Main St. ending at historic city hall (10722 SE Main St.) where the tree will be lit around 5:15 p.m. All festivities will conclude at 6 p.m.
Categories include Most Creative, Most Festive and Most Milwaukie. Upon arrival, look for the sign of the category that you want to be judged in and line up behind the sign. Each category includes prizes for both adults and children. All prizes will be awarded at just before the tree is lit at historic city hall.
Hot drinks and sweet treats are available for free at historic city hall after the parade. 

Tim Cook recently completed a remarkable journey, running over 1,500 miles to visit all 17 of Oregon's community colleges. His endeavor aimed to raise crucial funds and awareness for the financial challenges faced by Oregon college students as they pursue their degrees.

Bing in the New Year is a free, community event to celebrate the
New Year on Dec. 31, 2025 with the lowering of a 7-foot lighted
Bing cherry in downtown Milwaukie.
It’s not just a party — it’s a celebration of arts, history and culture.
The event includes lion dancers, vendors, kids’ activities, live music
and performances, culminating with the lowering by crane of
the giant Bing cherry at a family-friendly “drop” time of 9 p.m.
